PointRoll, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI - News), enables advertisers, agencies and publishers to create engaging advertising that connects with consumers by creating an interactive online environment that generates conversion.
Powering more than 70% of all rich media campaigns online, PointRoll empowers clients to deliver and measure interactive advertising while pushing the creative envelope. The Snapback is the type of automatic display that makes any size PointRoll BadBoy or TowelBoy come to life. Its primary purpose is to draw the user's attention to the advertiser's product or service with a larger message, thereby enticing the user to interact with the actual ad to see more messages from the advertiser.
How It Works When the page first loads, the Snapback "panel" is automatically displayed. The SnapBack remains displayed for a pre-determined amount of time (known as 'Display Time'), or until the user explicitly closes it. The Display Time variable is set by the advertiser when building the PointRoll ad unit with the AutoDisplay functionality. If the user does not interact with the SnapBack message, then it automatically closes after the display period has ended. Otherwise, the SnapBack message will remain open as long as the user is interacting with it.
